sometime while reading you

by MBKuhl

sometime while reading you (purloined glance above the pages,
dreamy) let out a sigh broad in the hours outside sleepy
whole and humming, felt and fawning (brows knit taught, tilted)
coffee, toast; the ocean outside leaning
the harbor, the road; boats turned to the morning
and later, laughing, you (sparkled eyes and hair everywhere)
everywhere running bare feet in the grass, the porch, the dock,
drew lines in the air with your (blinking, bashful) eyes.
